Main aim of the charity
Casa Zulema, shelters people (adults, teenagers and babies) who are HIV+, or are orphans product of the same illness and have been rejected by society or their families, people who have no hope or resources to obtain medicines for their illness. At Casa Zulema they receive support, care and a home to live and to get on their feet again.
How the employee got involved and why
At my church, Saint Dominique Savio, every month we help Casa Zulema, a place run by the nurse Laura Sánchez, she shelters the people that have been rejected by society or their family or are orphans due to AIDS, or cancer. They give support in any way they can, since the patients have no money or jobs, they help them get medicines for their illness and learn to live again.
What work does the employee do for charity?
Every month (first sunday of the month) we donate Pounds of Love, which are groceries (food, cleaning supplies) or basic personal needs (toothpaste, soap, diapers, toilet paper, etc), for the patients of Casa Zulema. This house is located near Valle de Angeles, sorrounded by the tranquility of a pine tree forest, which helps them to recover or have a peaceful stay.
