Main aim of the charity

Our main aim is to help to support Katha Bopha Hospital in Siem Reap, Cambodia to provide the healthcare and medical checkup for the poor children. I strongly hope each children can receive the healthcare equally

How the employee got involved and why

In November 2013, DHL Express has sponsor an international charity event calls, “Bike 4 Kids”. After joining the event, I felt connected about riding the bicycle to help Kids. Fortunately in 2017, one of my English teacher, he is the committee team of a local charity group name “ Cycling Community Club” This event is to raise fund for Kantha Bopha hospital which helps the poor kids who are not able to afford healthcare and medical bill . The Kantha Bopha hospitals treat half a million children per year free of charge. Approx 100,000 seriously ill children are admitted. I requested to join the event because I believe that every child in the world should have equal rights receiving healthcare treatment.

What work does the employee do for charity?

My first time joining this cycling club in 2017, it was one of the best experience and charity events that I ever attended. As mentioned, I feel really connected with this events thus this year 2018, being worked at logistic company, I volunteer logistically by assisting on arrange bike for the 800 participants which held on 27th May 2018. This milestone event is planning to celebrating 5 consecutive years to try to raise the funds as much as possible for this facility to keep it running. I participate as a cycler which I contribute to purchase the ticket of USD15 to help donating to the hospital, I have sacrificed my time & personal expense to travel to join this event because I wanted to show the heart of doing the good cause and especially to help to poor children to be able to have the medical healthcare. There are two ways to generate the fundraising. One is through the ticket selling from the cycler that join and another one is through the sponsorships. Years after years, the number of participants & fund has been raised gradually. In the beginning year 2014, there were only 200 participants and the fund of USD2,543. Whereas, this year, 2018 the number of participant has increased up to 855 cyclers and raise up to USD$24,766.
