Main aim of the charity
Established in 1892, Welcome Hall Mission has become the largest doorway to help for Montrealers in need. Many programs are available to support the homeless, young single mothers, families and at-risk youth. Providing hope through concrete actions and effective solutions.
How the employee got involved and why
I follow a Pay it forward lifestyle. And believe that if everyone in life can simple pay it forward and do something nice and genuine for someone else, the world we live in would be much better
What work does the employee do for charity?
For 2 years I have been trying to get a lrager group of people to participate in charitable events. In 2017 I was able to get a small team of DHL employees to visit the Men's mission thank to a tip that came from an employee about their needs. That visit opened the door to others asking me if we could do more. So when I found Peter, Jona and Sonia who were willing to be the voice of employees and be at the forefront to help drive this, I provided them with all the tools and motivation they needed to get this program in YUL off the ground.
What impact would winning have on the charity?
After volunteering there we all get to see how much the mission depends on charity and donations from community companies to feed the homeless and shelter them. Winning would not solve the problems the missions has to find donations, but would really help them extend what resources they do have allowing them to get more supplies and equipment they needs to run a shelter for 150 people daily
What impact would winning have on the employee?
For me the impact it would make is that I would have pay it forward and not only 1 person would have a better day but an entire mission could have a better week or even month depending on how well they could stretch the funds they would receive
