Main aim of the charity

It supports to build the watoto village for those orphans in Africa. The watoto village is like a family for those orphans. They did not only provide the home for the orphans, but also provide education to them, and let them have a new lives

How the employee got involved and why

F&A self initiative to form a social responsibility board since early 2018. With the support of board members, we initiative different event and activities to contribute to the society, including the workshop for elderly care, donation for the people in needed and the orphan care in Africa. With the workshop, we can raise the awareness for those social issues within F&A department, and follow up with some actions with social impact, such as to provide free elderly haircut in Elderly Nursing Home. Throughout those program, it is not only raise the social contribution awareness within the company, but also making some solid social impact to the community.

What work does the employee do for charity?

In 2018, F&A social responsibility board focuses on two charitable causes, which are elderly care and orphan care. On top of donation within the company, we initiate some workshop about elderly haircut, elderly communication skills and also, the difficulties of orphan care in Africa with outside social enterprises and charity organization (e.g. Watoto). In Q3 2018, there is a elderly haircut event that over 20 colleges will provide the free haircut in elderly nursing home, with the learnt elderly communication skills in previous workshops, to show our care and respect to those elderly in Hong Kong. Furthermore, in October, we are working with Watoto to provide a company visit in Hong Kong and let our colleagues to communicate with those orphan from Africa in Hong Kong.
