AFTA

Main aim of the charity

The vision of Armed Forces Tickets Association - Cincinnati is to be the national community-based model that provides entertainment opportunities for active military and their families.

How the employee got involved and why

I had met a fellow veteran at church and he told me about AFTA. I first signed up to get free tickets. Then quickly felt the need to help them in their mission to give back to veterans in a fun way.

What work does the employee do for charity?

AFTA gives free tickets to different events throughout the tri-state as well as several fund raisers. With the fund raisers they'll give free bikes to kids, school supplies, and much more. I help with the distribution portion as well as counting/sorting tickets. We usually get from 100-1,000 tickets depending on the event.

What impact would winning have on the charity?

Just bringing more attention to the organization would be a win. They're a small group of really passionate people that give their all to set up these events for the active/retired veterans. It really is a lot of work, very selfless work, and they're all in it for the right reasons. They struggle financially and never let that get in their way to keep putting smiles on the faces of veterans and their families.

What impact would winning have on the employee?

Knowing that I helped such an organization would put a smile on my heart. They deserve anything good that comes their way!!!
