Experiment e.V. is committed to encouraging exchanges between peoples of all cultures, religions and age groups. The simply idea with which Experiment e.V. makes a difference in the world is “People learn to live together by living together.”
How the employee got involved and why
Experiment e.V. is committed to encouraging exchanges between peoples of all cultures, religions and age groups. As a non-profit, intercultural exchange organization, Experiment offers a wide variety of intercultural and educational programs for all age groups and on all continents with the help of many motivated volunteers. I went to the US when I was 16 to stay a year with a host family and attend high school. This experience at that age changed the way I saw the world, how I understood my own culture and other cultures. I wanted to help others to share these experiences bringing people in the world closer together.
What work does the employee do for charity?
After my return to Germany, I stayed a member in the organization and helped out with various tasks. I conducted interviews with future exchange students, I facilitated at seminars for foreign students in Germany, I helped at fundraisers and information fairs.
What impact would winning have on the charity?
For organizations like these, there is always a lot to do. Especially in times of populist ideas regarding national thoughts and protectionism, these exchange programms for young people are vital to foster understanding of other cultors, values and ways of living.
What impact would winning have on the employee?
I haven't been as active as I would have liked to be lately and this would be a great opportunity for me to show that even in those times I am trying to think of how I can help. Also it gives me and some of my friends the change to dive into volunteering more again. I am also happy to share information, materials and experiences with DHL - maybe we have someone at DHL who wants to host a yound student ;-)
