Main aim of the charity

The GAT Foundation (Give A Textbook Inc.) are a Melbourne based charity that actively distributes books throughout the Philippines. Our three main objectives are: • We promote sustainability and environmental awareness through re-homing books within communities in Australia and the Philippines • We donate literacy material to schools and community groups in the Philippines to empower individuals and help to relieve poverty through education • We partner with corporate organisations to assist with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects. To support their goals for social, environmental and educational outreach

How the employee got involved and why

I always had a passion for volunteering and a close friend of mine founded the GAT Foundation. At one their initial fundraising events I volunteered and ever since then, I have actively been involved and eventually became a board member.

What work does the employee do for charity?

As a board member, I assist in the direction and growth of the charity by promoting sustainability and environmental awareness in Australia. I assist with strengthening relationships with Government bodies and corporate organisations in the Philippines and Australia to achieve mutual goals for social, environmental and educational outreach.
