Main aim of the charity

ITHRIVE Empowerment Inc. empowers, educates and transforms the lives of girls ages 12-25, from low resource communities, who may feel invisible, vulnerable, powerless, or hopeless. ITHRIVE Empowerment Inc. achieves its mission by facilitating two programs. The Live Life Loud Program was created to proactively deter girls from becoming victims of crimes. Crimes such as human trafficking or abuse of any kind, by educating them on the importance of personal development, self-empowerment and entrepreneurship. F.I.R.E. is our second program that addresses the unique needs of girls and young women who have already experienced trauma of some sort, whether it be abuse of any kind, sex trafficking or homelessness. We address the process of rebuilding, by teaching an empowerment philosophy built on 4 steps; Freedom, Identity, Reconciliation, Empowerment and Entrepreneurship.

How the employee got involved and why

After the 2018 Me to We mission trip to Ecuador, I was eager to make an impact in my own backyard. ITHRIVE Empowerment Incorporated, stuck out to me because they focus on the empowerment girls and young ladies that come from low resource communities, by teaching life skills focused on personal development, self-empowerment, and entrepreneurship. By teaching these skills, ITHRIVE believes they will deter their participants from becoming victims of crimes such as human trafficking and sex abuse , among other things.

What work does the employee do for charity?

As the volunteer Development Director with ITHRIVE Empowerment Inc, this position allows me to fill many needs within the organization. From gathering funding resources, to attending committee meetings, to hosting volunteer rallies, to teaching the curriculum for both of our programmatic areas, I am able to help shape the direction and the impact of the organization.
