Just cause

Main aim of the charity

The main aim is to help people develop rugby skills. To assist and support rugby club in town to perform themselves and by the meantime to give opportunity to poor person that are not going school to use this sport to do something in their life and get a chance to succeed.

How the employee got involved and why

Rugby man since 1995, I stopped my career when i start working at DHL. But due to the High Values I got from this sport and magic experiences I had, it was just not possible to stay without doing anything to others. I decided to use relations I got during my travel, to help small clubs and children. Can you imagine that used shoes, balls, clothes, simple water, juice, bread or sweet with a lot of loves and coaching can change people life? This is the pure reality I discovered and I started asking support and giving a part of my time for assistance

What work does the employee do for charity?

I asked my family, friends, and relations inside and outside the country, the persons I met during my rugby travels to give me anything they have to help people. I collected materials, clothes, shoes, balls and juice, sweets, cookies. The last 8 years I distributed the donations to more than 200 people. I also use to buy foods and water for poor people after each training. About 100 non-scholarship person got the opportunity to eat a balanced meal every week after our sessions.

What impact would winning have on the charity?

I know i can change a lot of people life with more support. My dream is to be able to help the children I’m coaching to have the chance to go to school one day. I’m planning to put in place some well-structured teams and organize a competition inviting massive people to show what they are able to do. I’m trusting that the future “bafana bafana rugby club ” will come from BJ.

What impact would winning have on the employee?

I use to talk to children about my life and the work I’m doing at DHL, the Values and the team spirit we have at work and I can see their eyes shining. Being supported by this company will reinforce the trusting they have on me and will confirm that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE as i use to repeat to them every day.
