Locks of Love

Main aim of the charity

Our mission is to return a sense of self, confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to financially disadvantaged children free of charge.

How the employee got involved and why

My godson/nephew got diagnosed with cancer at the age of 5 and do to chemotherapy and all of the other treatments he lost his hair. That is how I learned and got involved in this charitable cause. The experience of donating your hair is a much personal gift; you are truly sending a piece of yourself to a kid or adult who has a disease that's caused them to lose their hair.

What work does the employee do for charity?

Growing and donating my hair; this year I donated 11 inches of hair that I spent three years growing are now on its way to Children with Hair loss. I also create awareness via facebook, email, word of mouth. So far I have motivated 3 people to donate their hair -Cindy Rocha, Lourdes Gee and Frankie Borrero.
