Providing household goods to the migrants and the poor and needy

How the employee got involved and why

I received a WhatsApp message from a friend asking for household goods for a Sri Lankan migrant. I then visited this family and was deeply moved by the condition they lived. There were no sofa set, fridge, cupboards, dining table, and TV. I realized that they did not have money to buy these things and so I had the idea of starting this project of getting from those who wanted to give away their items and giving it to those who need it most

What work does the employee do for charity?

Basically, I collect the items from the donors and then arrange the transport and source for the manpower to do the job. It is rather difficult to get FOC transport and so I normally ask around and most of the time my brother, Louis who is running a convenient shop provides his truck and I get my son, Joshua to follow me. I normally send this request to all my friends, relations and family members and I get the things from individuals. In fact I always receive more than what I asked for and therefore I started informing my contacts to see if anyone wanted household goods surplus. I started receiving a lot of requests. I saw a need for to serve such people and I became the contact point for both those who wanted to give away their items and those who were in need. And so, I am doing this charity for the past two years.
