Main aim of the charity

Help parents of children affected by Vernal Keratoconjuntivitis. Create a community among them to let them ask for help and help each other. Help the trough the hospital burocracy. Bring their needs to the hospital and give the hospital a way to communicate with them. Sustain parents and children during the visit time. Donate devices and consultants to the hospital. Sponsor researches on the disease. Promote the knowledge of the disease among people and doctors.

How the employee got involved and why

My daughter had this particular disease (Vernal Keratoconjunctivitis VKC). We found many other children and families struggling to understand how to manage the disease and how to support their children. The disease was mostly unknown and all parents were alone in affording it. At that point we thought to make an association to give parents a place where to make questions, share experience, and be less alone. We started working with a Milan Hospital who was specializing on this disease and started making initiatives to divulgate the knowledge of the disease among parents and doctors.

What work does the employee do for charity?

I have been president of the association for last 6 years (since it was founded). Since few months I'm involved in the association activities, I participate to board's discussion group and sponsor association activities and need whenever possible.
