Main aim of the charity

To make an active contribution to improving the quality of life of people with cancer by supporting the work of the Foundation Life with Cancer and the University Hospital Halle / Saale.

How the employee got involved and why

Everyone has heard of the disease or is affected in some way. I started rowing in 2015 in Halle, at the same time my rowing club organized the charity regatta "rowing against cancer" in Halle. Immediately, I respect that is something for my DHL colleagues. Two years later we started with 2 boats on the second regatta in Halle. The enthusiasm was involved, we want to help to do something again cancer and we have a good time together with our colleagues during the training and the regatta.

What work does the employee do for charity?

This year we, DHL started again with 4 boats. All in all were 90 boats in competition on the 3. Charity regatta in Halle. A big task for the organizers. Annually, I’m in contact with the responsible colleagues for sponsoring by DHL, to pay entry fee. Thanks for the support on this point. I have to order the training, the rower, the time for training, etc. for our DHL bots and rower. We got a big support from our Communication colleagues and from the supporter on the shore on the regatta day.
