Main aim of the charity

Caring for vulnerable and elderly people by providing them a good home with the best of care. Everyone has the right to feel safe in their old age and to enjoy every day to the fullest!

How the employee got involved and why

My beloved mother who suffers from dementia lives in the residential caring home Sint-Margaretha in Holsbeek. Every time I visited her, I noticed that many residents received no or very few visits so I invited them to join my mum and me to a game of dominoes. They enjoyed it so much that they asked me to come back to play again on my next visit!

What work does the employee do for charity?

I play board games, I push the weelchair, I give them coffee and help them with small things that they no longer can do themselves. We dance, we sing, we draw and we color, we do many things that makes them feel joyful. The residents are always very happy to see me mainly because they know that I am giving them a good time. Especially now when the days are getting colder and shorter. But the most important thing : I give them attention and love!
