Alaa believes the Red Cross is absolutely crucial to Lebanon because there is no public ambulance service. That’s why he volunteered to be an Emergency Medical Technician as soon as he was old enough. Putting in grueling 12-hour shifts, Alaa has helped provide emergency treatment and support for patients and injured people, throughout some of the most turbulent and disastrous times in Lebanon’s history.
He continues to undergo extensive training so he can be of even more service to the people of Lebanon. For him, it’s his passion and his life’s purpose.
