Main aim of the charity
Their main activities revolve around rescuing injured, emaciated, dehydrated, blind, dumped, paralysed dogs from all over the country. Once they have been rescued, the dogs are treated, vaccinated and cared for in their home. These dogs are usually not put up for adoption due to the medical care they need 24/7. Their aim is to primarily rescue these dogs off the street and give them the medical care they need & most importantly, a second chance at life. Also, in Malaysia dogs are severely abused or un-cared for as our law enforcement towards animal cruelty is quite often obliterated.
How the employee got involved and why
I have loved dogs since I was a kid, having to foster & care for many dogs and cats as I was growing. I purposely bought a home with a yard so that I can continue my efforts of rescue & foster but there is only so much I can do & therefore I work with various organisations such as MDDB, A Pet's Journal to help them with their good cause. I usually sponsor these organisations by providing them donations especially for the injured dogs with medication & vet fees. Quite often, I would sponsor food/kibble bags for their dogs at the shelter. Unfortunately, the society and laws in Malaysia marginalizes dogs & it's care thus increasing the numbers of abuse day by day.
What work does the employee do for charity?
I volunteer and I donate regularly especially to organisations such as A Pet's Journal who rescue dogs/cats or any animals hit by cars, abused, neglected, dumped, injured, paralyzed and need medical attention. My job is to help them with funds/food/medication etc for these dogs. I also jump in on the rescue efforts especially emaciated dogs/animals & volunteer as a feeder to stray dogs/cats.
