Profoundly aware of the value of each animal, main aim of charitable cause is living our mission everyday by serving our community animals with committed compassion to relieve them of their suffering and to restore their health swiftly, scientifically and humanely while protecting and lobbying for their natural rights.

How the employee got involved and why

I am actively involved in Animal Welfare work since past 6+ years. It started with adopting my abandoned pets. Life span of animals are shorter than human; due to age factor and ill-health both my pets passed away. The emotional connect with them led me to carry on social work for stray animals and birds. My locality (Bhayander) where I do my animal welfare work does not have hospital for animals; hence we largely depend on Thane SPCA (NGO) to help us with accidental, emergency cases. The treatment / surgeries are performed free of cost with utmost care and hygiene. Mrs. Shakuntala Majumdar a veteran animal right activist and the President of Thane SPCA runs the ONLY Veterinary Hospital in Thane since 17 years. They have treated more than 1,30000 animals / birds so far. Funds are essential to carry on the excellent work they do for the speechless. Thane SPCA is one of the ONLY 2 Indian Animal Welfare Organisations accredited by Guide Star (an International Accreditation Organisation) with their Highest seal-Platinum, for transparency and good governance. What work does the employee do for charity?

My work started with feeding stray animals, placed water bowl in my locality for animals to drink water during summer, funding amount in my own capacity for medication and treatment, fighting for animal rights and abuse. Our group "Bhayander Animal Welfare" help the needy and helpless animals and birds. Our active team consist of Vet Dr. Yogesh and helper (Mr. Anil) who handles ON SPOT treatment and follow ups. Cases which cannot be handled on spot / road and need Foster care are sent to Mrs. Panicker foster care. Emergency and critical cases are sent to Thane SPCA. Every case is new and challenging- animal abuse and accidental are worse among all.
