Main aim of the charity

The main aim is to provide economical support to investigation projects against cancer, mostly childhood cancer.

How the employee got involved and why

I started nearly from the beginning of it. I know Ugarte's family since I was a child and we met Pablo Ugarte as he was a friend of my nephew. Once he died, his parents decided to start with this cause to get money to support Cancer Investigation teams and I decided immediately to join them. In this Association all the money they get is dedicated to support the investigation of the Cancer. No one gets a salary, no rents are paid, nothing but the investigation teams is paid with the money APU gets. All the work is done by volunteers, so you can be sure that 100% of the earnings are dedicated to investigation. And their accounts are shared with the associates frequently and published in the website. There is no other association like this one.

What work does the employee do for charity?

I joined Asociacion Pablo Ugarte nearly from the beginning. I began giving them a few money monthly since the beginning, participate whenever I could in their events and my husband helped to translate APU's website into English long ago. Besides, my family and me usually wear their designer clothes so they can earn get money while I help APU be known. This is Pablo's parents fight against childhood Cancer. This is our fight. The APU logo is an almond and an olive because that is what Pablo used to eat during his Cancer treatment to minimized the treatment flavors. Also, his rests are bellow a beautiful olive tree. There is a roundabout in a village in Madrid area with the APU's logo on it as it is really impressive what the APU (especially Mariano and Dori, Pablo's parents) do. APU is the private spanish association which gives most money to support investigation teams against Cancer in Spain.
