Main aim of the charity

Resocialization of detainees and shelter dogs is central a. The project focuses on increasing self-confidence and learning and improving social and communication skills among the participating prisoners; making shelter dogs difficult to place socially, so that the chance of relocation increases considerably and in the long (er) term, reducing recidivism in both humans and animals.

How the employee got involved and why

This project came from the Netherlands to Belgium at the end of 2019. We have already held several collection campaigns for the dogs and the shelters involved. The name of the project is Dutch cell dogs. Belgian cell dogs is an initiative of dutch cell dogs

What work does the employee do for charity?

Belgian Cell Dogs helps shelter dogs and detainees on their way to a better future. Together they set out for a new life within our unique and successful training program. Towards freedom together. Shelter dogs that are difficult to place have a better chance of a warm, loving home. Detainees who are allowed to train dogs become more social, take responsibility and give back to society. An absolute win-win situation. For humans and animals.
