Main aim of the charity

The aim is to organize the blood collection throughout France and redespatch blood between the hospitals and health care bodies to save lives by curing people suffering from critical diseases and/or sever injuries. https://dondesang.efs.sante.fr/ https://ffdsb.org/

How the employee got involved and why

I have started volunteering with the Association des Donneurs de Sang Benevoles in Thionville in February 2018, while I was waiting to give my blood and had the chance to discuss with a Doctor. I actually already organized blood donation within the premises of DHL EXPRESS Luxembourg with the CROIX ROUGE LUXEMBOURGEOISE several times some years ago because this is really critical: by a simple, free, gesture, you can save lives and/or help people suffering from diseases like cancer, leucemia, or having been injured in an accident . Unfortunately, we had to stop because the CROIX ROUGE LUXEMBOURGEOISE did not enough enough resources to maintain external blood collections. My father used to give his blood when I was a child and I have always wanted to follow his example. This was all the more important for me and it took a special meaning when my Mum was suffering from a brain cancer and had to receive some blood transfusion.

What work does the employee do for charity?

I have been volunteering for 2.5 years now with the Association des Donneurs de Sang Benevoles in Thionville where I live. This association is aimed at organizing the collection of blood together with the E.F.S. (Etablissement Français du Sang) throughout the year: as far as I am concerned, I help at welcoming the people who give their blood, promoting the cause and, when I am lucky to be healthy enough, I personally also give my blood from time to time.
