Main aim of the charity

The main objective of the Doodles for Charity is to raise funds to purchase medical supplies to be distributed in hospitals, to support the safety of doctors and nurses fighting against COVID19.

How the employee got involved and why

On March 2019, at the beginning of pandemic Covid-19 in Honduras and many countries in Latinamerica, we ran into a problem of lack of resources and government support to provide PPE for the frontline healthcare workers in the hospitals. Doctors and nurses are trying to save people’s life, but to accomplish this, they need to be well protected. We wanted to find an original way to raise founds for this cause. And that’s how Doodles for Charity is born. So far, we have made 3 donations to the Instituto Nacional Cardiopulmonar, a public hospital where most of covid-19 patients are treated. These donations included: Protective suits, face masks, gloves, hand soap,… The last time, we even could deliver a snack for the people waiting outside the hospital.

What work does the employee do for charity?

Doodles for charity is an Instagram page created to raise funds that allow us to help doctors and nurses who treat COVID-19 patients and do not have the necessary protective equipment to keep their health. When people donate L.100 or 5$, they get a personalized ‘’doodle’’. We create each digital doodle from scratch based on the photograph they send us. It takes around 45 to 60 minutes to desing and color each one.
