Main aim of the charity

Assisting the Community to live healthy lifestyles through programs like stop-smoking, eating healthy foods, exercise and related training. Sourcing for donations in cash and kind to support Old Age Homes, Child and Hospice Care Centres, Disaster Relief and Community service in general.

How the employee got involved and why

I had been involved in charitable work with friends for more than 10 years until it was decided to register a charitable organisation (NPO) called "EdenLifestyle Centre" (ELC) through which we could do our community work. ELC was registered in SA in August 2019 (234-109 NPO) Having worked for DHL and interacted with many of its very senior management, I came to appreciate the value of giving something back to the community. A friend once told me that: "A person is not remembered for what he did for himself but for what he did for others"

What work does the employee do for charity?

I am the current chairperson of EdenLifestyle Centre (ELC), an NPO based in Edenvale, JHB, South Africa. We source for donations that we distribute to Old people's homes, Hospices, Child care centres, schools and/or where the community needs. Besides distributing items, we encourage and support a healthful lifestyles. Please refer to the presentation attached herewith.
