Main aim of the charity

Charitable Cause: Financial assistance, spiritual and psychological support to children suffering from catastrophic illnesses. What Fuerza Memo does for these kids & Families: Psychological and thanatological support for children and families. The founder is a psychologist by profession and has a long history with the specialty of thanatology. These coincidences have allowed Fuerza Memo to help many families. Financial support for the purchase of medicines, medical supplies, vitamins, diapers, etc. To families who need it. Through our contacts and groups, we try to help to find a job who don't have, they need it so much to afford for the expenses during the treatment. For those families who ask, it is also spiritual support as well.

How the employee got involved and why

I am part of “Fuerza Memo” since 5 years ago, when I met Sandra Bustos (founder of Fuerza Memo) in 2014 through a relative who share with me her son´s case; Her 15-year-old son had been diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a very aggressive type of cancer. At the same time, we were experiencing a cancer battle too in my family (my brother and my nephew), So, I approached her to share information, and to support each other and I joined the prayer group to ask for Memo's recovery in 2014. On September 8, 2015, Memo passes away, but this group & Sandra continued with the mission Guillermo wanted; He ask her, to support other kids and help them. So she started the support with other families facing the same experience, this cause begin growing and frequently we met families that need financial help, so this is how this cause has been expanding from being a spiritual support to also help them with financial assistance to cover basic needs mainly, medications or medical supplies. Today, “Fuerza Memo” is supporting around 140 kids hospitalized, no matter what your beliefs are, and has been very difficult because COVID19; In Mexico, hospitals for public health are lack in quality and services, but now is also shortage of medicines and they have become more expensive, so help is much needed. What work does the employee do for charity?

1. I promote and collect plastic screw caps to obtain funds and to support children suffering from cancer and catastrophic illnesses. 2. When possible, I make a financial contributions for a family that need it. The support is for the purchase of medicine or to pay for the parents expenses when they come from outside the city, or to buy essential products such as diapers, vitamins, and because they are kids, we also buy them some toys as a gifts to make them feel better during the treatments. 3. Support through my network of contacts, to refer the parents of children who do not have a job, so that they can find one, and that they can get cover the expenses related with the treatments. 4. I am a member of the founding group that was formed at the beginning to pray for Memo and his family during his battle with cancer. Now, we help them and we are a spiritual support for these children and their families.
