Main aim of the charity

Finding new possible stem cell donators for the treatment of otherwise not treatable patients with leukemia. They are part of a global network with the same goal. They are promoting this cause, are sending typing kits to new donators for their registration and are offering local registration sessions for new donators.

How the employee got involved and why

This year after reading a newspaper article about a newborn baby with leukemia, which can't be cured without a voluntary stem cell donation. Unfortunately the chances of finding a possible donator outside of the patients family are 1:500.000 at best. Therefore every registered donator counts.

What work does the employee do for charity?

I have registered as a possible donator for patients with leukemia. If there is a genetic match in the future, I will be contacted and can help the treatment with a stem cell donation.
