Main aim of the charity
Peter Mac is one of the world’s leading cancer research, education and treatment centres globally and is Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to caring for people affected by cancer. We have over 2,500 staff, including more than 580 laboratory and clinical researchers, all focused on providing better treatments, better care and potential cures for cancer.
How the employee got involved and why
I started in 2016. I have lost quite a few young friends to cancer and feel very strongly about research to find a cure for this dreaded disease. I like cycling and what better way to raise funds whilst also keeping healthy.
What work does the employee do for charity?
I participate in an annual 100 kms. bicycle ride event and get friends and colleagues to sponsor me.
