Main aim of the charity

To raise the fund to construct our first ever public skate park contributing to the development of the next generation of Cambodians.

How the employee got involved and why

Fundraising for the Public Park: Every year, our team members and I organize a Skate Marathon in order to raise the awareness and money to build the first ever public skate park in the country, It is important and imperative we want to be a strong discipline team for the upcoming SeaGame 2023 hosted in Cambodia. This November will be the second year of our fundraising effort and we hope to obtain more sponsors in achieving our dream. What work does the employee do for charity?

Dear DHL Got Heart Committee Team Members, My name is Rattanak Khim (Peterson), a professional skateboarder and a Marketing Executive at DHL Express Cambodia. As the first known skater in Cambodia, I have taken the responsibility to coach the next generation skate team representing Cambodia in the SeaGame Olympics 2023. Over the past two years, I have dedicated my personal free time to train these developing young skaters to prepare them for the Olympic level competition with the dream of bringing medals for Cambodia. Training: Our classes and training are split into two. Each weekend, I train young male skaters from 2 to 5 PM and every Wednesday night. Female skaters attend the course from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Currently, we have about 10 talented potential riders to compete with the international team. As for the female skaters, we have 5 which are improving every day. I volunteer my time without compensation. Facility: We train every weeks at the Skateistan Park an Internationally renowned Non-Governmental Organization. Unfortunately for us, they have classes during the weekdays and only allowed to skate/train on the weekends their facility. Our goal is to have one day have a public skate park so our team can develop and improve at a better pace.
