Main aim of the charity

Main aim of SAF is to enable access to education, healthcare services, and clean water across Pakistan to empower underprivileged communities for a better future. To date, under its healthcare operations it owns the only charity-based, high quality healthcare provider in Kohat, Pakistan. The hospital facilitates to the population of 120,000 approximately from 20 villages. Furthermore, under its educational operations, it has accomplished building 14 schools which provide quality education to 4157 students throughout the country. And under its mission to provide drinking water, it has built 25 water tanks and 121 hand pumps throughout 75 different villages in Pakistan. To summarize, SAF's vision and mission is to be the source of transforming the lives of the underprivileged communities in not only Pakistan, but across the globe too.

How the employee got involved and why

My volunteering journey began when Mr.Shahid Afridi first paid a visit to Bahrain back in 2017, to raise awareness regarding his foundation and projects. His journey to creating a better future for our country out of humanity was one of the biggest inspirations for me to be a volunteer for the organisation. The fact that this foundation aims to achieve goals such as Quality Education, Healthcare and Gender Equality within the whole country, and not just a city, was something that touched me. In addition to that, Shahid Afridi Foundation aims to not only facilitate Pakistan with its donations, but also aims to help the less fortunate in developing countries of Asia, Africa etc. To me, these goals definitely seemed to be the present solutions to long term problems such as illiteracy, discrimination and poverty, especially in a developing country.

What work does the employee do for charity?

Mr.Shahid Afridi, the person responsible for creating such a cause, and being a well known personality, has paid visits to Bahrain multiple times regarding fundraising. My support and contribution to this charitable cause has been through my involvement in organizing and managing such fundraising events as a volunteer. I am also affiliated with a small office operating here in the name of 'SAF Bahrain Chapter', which enables me to spread awareness through various ways such as social media and group meetings from time to time.
