Main aim of the charity

Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support, and legal services. And they campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to them for help. As an individual store in Westgate, they try to be a community hub, helping and contributing to the local community in any way they can, including job training, petitions and advice.

How the employee got involved and why

My partner became the manager of the store this year after volunteering at shelter for a while and with charity stores always needing more volunteers i am happy to help, i also get to spend time with my partner on something they are truly passionate about, helping others. What work does the employee do for charity?

On weekends, when I have spare time i journey to Westgate and volunteer at the charity shop 'Shelter'. Normally on a Saturday, i go in before opening, help move stock and do anything required to help out, adding prices, processing donations, cleaning, etc.
