Main aim of the charity

The main aim of the hospital is to help out underprivileged families that cannot afford to put their new born babies in incubators to get all the medical help and attention they need. Preterm birth is one of the leading concerns in Egypts healthcare system. It also has the highest rate of being the cause of death in Egypt, as per a study that was conducted in 2017, 38% of the deaths is caused by that. It doesn't only affect the infants, but also the mothers and their whole family. The hospital provides the facility to take care of the premature infants however they only limit the amount of patients they can accept due to the lack of resources. The hospital is 100% free and does not take any money from the patients, it's based on donations only. Since it's not located in Cairo, it does not get as much attention and awareness as I hoped it would. I strongly believe that this is an underrated topic that should be talked about more often.

How the employee got involved and why

Ever since I was in high school, I used to join after school clubs that supported different charities. We held many events to gather money and always donated it to the people in need. I realised how fortunate I am and that it is my duty to help the people around me. When the Pandemic started in 2020, my sense of responsibility towards my community increased a lot because I saw how much the people were suffering basically to survive. That's why along with my family and friends, we decided to raise awareness and make it a habit of ours to help others.

What work does the employee do for charity

Every month, my friends and I collect donations for different causes. Whether it's ramadan, Eid, the beginning of a new school year, or the the start of winter or even summer. We always have a cause to support. Currently, we're also gathering donations to buy blankets and winter clothes to the people in need.
