Jireh Charity Inc.

Main aim of the charity

Jireh Charity Inc. is a registered non-profit humanitarian and Christian-based charitable organization in the USA and Sierra Leone. The organization is on a mission to provide support and assistance to economically challenged and impoverished widows, the disabled, less privileged children, orphans, and the elderly, in order to help them rise above the challenges of poverty and rejection through education, and socio-economic support and empowerment.

How the employee got involved and why

Education is a passion for us and by educating a child, it is eminent that you are gearing towards lifting that family out of poverty, for this reason, we find it a most to bring education to the people and children of Mokandoh village, hence by taken them from darkness to light. We started the charity in 2018 by first catering for widows and their children, where we supplied them with food and non-food items, periodically such as; school materials, food items to the most vulnerable, etc. In the fall of September 2018, we opened a junior secondary school at Mokandoh in the Moyamba District, where children drop out of school after completing their elementary/primary education, due to the lack of funds to further support their children especially when they have to send them to urban towns where they ended up selling in the street and been abused, rather than being in school. For these reasons we had the urged to open the Jireh Junior Secondary School to care for these vulnerable yet ambitious and promising children in that part of the world.
