Liberty Wildlife
Main aim of the charity
The main aim of Liberty Wildlife is to "nurture the nature of Arizona" through wildlife rehabilitation, education, and conservation.
How the employee got involved and why
I started volunteering for Liberty Wildlife in 2018 because I loved their mission statement which is "to nurture the nature of Arizona". I have always been a huge animal & nature lover, and by volunteering with Liberty Wildlife I feel like I am helping our wildlife in Arizona.
What work does the employee do for charity
I am currently volunteering on the Owl Team and on the Rescue & Transport Team. I have volunteered on the Daily Care Team as well. My Owl Team, which is a specialized extension of the Daily Care Team, duties include cleaning the enclosures, visually assessing the birds' conditions, preparing food & feeding the owls. The Owl Team also checks on all of the other birds in rehab to ensure they have fresh water, were fed, etc,. As part of the Rescue & Transport Team, I take calls from the Liberty Wildlife Hotline regarding injured animals that the public has called in as needing a rescue. I have been trained on how to catch and handle injured animals as part of the Rescue & Transport Team.
