Imire, Rhino & Wildlife conservation

Main aim of the charity

Imire Rhino & Wildlife Conservancy is dedicated to protecting wildlife and strongly believe that rural communities and conservation programmes can successfully thrive side by side, working together to ensure the protection of our natural heritage.

How the employee got involved and why

I've been especially lucky to find Imire volunteering project this summer and was fascinated by how much can be done with very little. Conserving endangered species like rhinos, cheetahs and elephants starts with education and supporting local community. And I'm utterly impressed on how big of the positive ripple effect can be created with my volunteering efforts in this place.

What work does the employee do for charity

Being a volunteer in Imire conservation organization I''ve donated to local community (money, clothes, sanitary items) and took part in various activities, including: building stone bridges, releasing good bacteria to the ponds, herding cattle, fixing fences and greenhouses, helping local women community to produce reusable sanitary pads, participating English club at the local school etc.
