Rediet, Bereket and Yosef Memorial Child Care Foundation.

Main aim of the charity

To improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children by providing them with the chance to live with a stable family, to develop in an environment where they are shown love, care, and respect, and to have a bright and prosperous future in all aspects of their lives. The Foundation gives training for women under poverty level, gives medical care for the children and most importantly it provides basic necessities and education for the kids.

How the employee got involved and why

I simply want to make the world a better place, even through a small act of kindness. Every time I go to the foundation to spend time with the kids after work and on the weekends, I always go back home with a big smile on my face and with lots of positive energy, or as I would like to say it “I feel like as if I was Re-born”. I feel a delight that words cannot even begin to express when I see the joy on their cheeks. And I'm incredibly delighted to be a part of a foundation that promotes such a valuable cause. The R.B.Y. foundation was established by heroic parents who tragically lost their only two children in a single night in a car accident. I was captivated by this touching story when I heard it in December 2020. Later on, that year on January 7/ 2020, which was Ethiopian Christmas, I went there donate some clothes and got tamed by those beautiful souls and I have been volunteering ever since.

What work does the employee do for charity

I volunteer my time by helping kids with school projects, tutoring, planning fundraisers, and providing psychological and financial advice to women living in poverty.
