Main aim of the charity

As a Rotary club we raise money to distribute to local, national & international causes as we seem suitable, and offer help to local groups when requested. Shelterbox aim to provide immediate disaster relief, in any & all parts of the world.

How the employee got involved and why

I joined when I moved to my current house about 15 years ago, I was looking for a social club to meet people in the new area, and a service club was attractive as I'd done fundraising previously. There are so many good local & international charities which can benefit from our collective spare time. As a club we can help more than I would as an individual.

What work does the employee do for charity

Our Rotary club has fundraising events throughout the year, including organising a half marathon, a local calendar and running a bar at private & public events. We also offer time & expertise to other groups & charities in the town when requested.
